PLEASE add the basic 'Housekeeping" functions!!!

After reading many of the Roadmap submissions, a large number are asking for basic Housekeeping functions: the basic ability to deleting things, bulk functions and the like. Without this basic functionality, the platform quickly gets loaded up with useless junk that complicates everything else. These things should addressed before all the API and other advanced things people are asking for.
